Year of death: 1389.7.28 Year of birth: Kenmu 2 (1335) A nobleman during the Northern and Southern Courts period. His father was Gon Dainagon Kinmune, and his mother was the daughter of Gon Dainagon Hino Sukena. His first name was his real name. According to the Taiheiki, his father Kinmune was killed for plotting to overthrow the new Kenmu government, and Sanetoshi was born on the 100th day after his death. In 1366 (Seiji 5/Shohei 21), he became the Minister of the Right. After Kinmune's arrest, Kinmune's half-brother Kinshige succeeded him as head of the family, and thereafter there was a back and forth between Kinshige and Sanetoshi as head of the family, but after Kinshige served the Southern Court, Sanetoshi became head of the family in the Northern Court.
