A dead language belonging to the Celtic branch of the Indo-European language family. Gaulish. A Celtic language spoken in Gaul, the Iberian Peninsula, and even Asia Minor before the Common Era. It is also called Continental Celtic. Its original form is known only from a few short inscriptions and proper nouns found in Greek and Latin works.
