This is the diary of Komai Nakatsukasa Shoyu Shigekatsu, Toyotomi Hidetsugu's right-hand man. It is also called Komai Nakasho Nikki or Bunroku Nikki. Of the 17 volumes covering the period from leap September 1593 (Bunroku 2) to April 1595, only volumes 2, 4, 6-8, and 17 remain, consisting of two books of three volumes each. In addition to providing detailed information about the activities of the regent Hidetsugu and Toyotomi Hideyoshi, it also contains meticulous notes on related documents, making it a first-class historical resource for understanding the political history of the Bunroku period. Copies are kept in the Cabinet Library and the University of Tokyo Library, and a fragment said to be in the author's own hand is kept at Ryukoku University. Included in the Revised Historical Records Collection. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
