A former town in Hoi District, southeastern Aichi Prefecture. Located in the Toyohashi Plain on the right bank of the Toyo River, the town is covered with rice paddies and farmland. It is served by the Tokaido Main Line, Iida Line, National Route 1, and Meitetsu Main Line, and is home to factories producing food, transport equipment, and general machinery.
