Japanese: 交代寄合 - こうたいよりあい

The occupations and family status of the Edo Shogunate's samurai. Although they were hatamoto of the Yoriai (a rank of 3,000 koku or more with no official duties), they performed alternate attendance and received treatment on par with daimyo. They were controlled by the Roju. Some families were descendants of famous families who inherited daimyo's names, some were descendants of famous families, and some were members of the daimyo's share of the stipend. Some were ranked as small builders with less than 3,000 koku. There were 33 families at the end of the Edo period, including 20 Omoteoreishu families, 4 Nasu families, and others in the Mino, Mikawa, and Shinano groups.

江戸幕府の武家の職・家格。寄合（3000石以上で無役）の旗本でありながら参勤交代を行い，大名並の処遇を受けた。老中支配。大名の名跡を継ぐ家，名家の子孫，大名分知による取立などの由来があり，3000石未満の小普請身分で列せられた者もある。表御礼衆(おもておれいしゅう)20家，那須衆４家ほか美濃衆・三河衆・信濃衆などに分かれ，幕末には33家があった。
