One of the Japanese trademarks for the synthetic fiber nylon 6 obtained by polymerizing ε-caprolactam. Nylon 6 is manufactured by about 50 companies around the world, and is also a trademark of Perlon in Germany, Caprolan in the United States, and Kapron in the former Soviet Union. It is used for a wide range of purposes, including tire cord, fishing line, rope, blouses, shirts, and either alone or in blends for clothing and carpets.
