Kennaiki

Japanese:
Kennaiki

It is also read as "Kendaiki" and is also called "Tokifusa Koki" or "Kenshoin Naifuki." It is the diary of the Minister of the Interior, Madarono Koji Tokifusa (1394-1457). Kenshoin was Tokifusa's posthumous name. The extant portion covers the years from 1414 (Oei 21) to 1455 (Kousho 1). Many of the intervening years have been lost. Tokifusa was highly trusted by both the imperial court and the military, and he also served as a Nanto Tenso (a representative of the Southern Capital), so there are many valuable articles. In addition, the articles on the Kakitsu Rebellion and the subsequent peasant uprisings, as well as the issuance of the Tokuseirei (decree of amnesty) which included the demands of the uprisings, are well known. Many of the handwritten versions remain in the Imperial Household Agency Archives and Mausolea Department, Kyoto University Library, and elsewhere. It is included in the "Dai Nihon Kokiroku."
