Japanese: 言語新作 - げんごしんさく

Neologism, also known as neologism, is the creation of new words by combining words or parts of words. These are words that are privately created, i.e. have a private meaning or sound, and do not conform to the norms of everyday language use. Clinically, they are often seen in schizophrenic patients, and while some are meaningless, others can be understood as being created to express pathological new experiences that do not fit our language. For example, the delusional patients reported by Bleuler call the way they are affected by hallucinations the "dossier way."

〈造語症neologism〉ともいわれ，語あるいは語の一部を合成して新しい語をつくること。これは個人的につくられた，すなわち私的な意味または音声をもった言葉であり，日常的な言語使用の規範からはずれている。臨床的には精神分裂病者にしばしばみられ，あるものは無意味であるが，あるものはわれわれの言語では適さない，病的な新しい体験を表現するためにつくられたものとして理解することができる。たとえばブロイラーによって報告された妄想患者は，幻覚によって影響される仕方を〈関係書類一式の道〉とよぶ。
