This is a classification name widely used in Japan for soils that are rich in humus and have a black, light, coarse-grained topsoil and a light brown subsoil. It is derived from a nickname that has been used by farmers throughout the country for a long time. Many of these soils have a topsoil layer of volcanic ash, and are also called black niga or black noppo, but there are also soils of non-volcanic ash origin. →Related topic Black mud Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
