Kurohimeyama Kofun

Japanese: 黒姫山古墳 - くろひめやまこふん

This keyhole-shaped tumulus is located in Kuroyama, Mihara-cho, Minamikawachi-gun, Osaka Prefecture. It is located in the center of a low, flat plateau, and is a two-tiered tumulus facing west. It is 114m long, with a diameter of 64m at the rear and 65m wide at the front, and both are over 11m high. It has a moat on the north side that is over 17m wide. A double row of cylindrical haniwa figurines surround the tumulus, and figurative haniwa figurines of houses, shields, quivers, and other items are arranged in a square on top of the rear. It is said that a stone coffin was once excavated from the rear, but a survey in 1947 unearthed a pit-style stone chamber for burial goods in the center of the front, containing armor, swords, spears, arrowheads, knives, and many other iron weapons and equipment.

大阪府南河内郡美原町黒山にある前方後円墳。低平な台地の中央にあり，西面する二段築成の墳丘で，全長114m，後円部径64m，前方部幅65m，高さは前方･後円部ともに11m余ある。北側に造り出しをもち，幅17m余の周濠を有する。二重の円筒埴輪列をめぐらし，後円部上に家，盾，靫（ゆき）などの形象埴輪を方形に並べていた。かつて後円部より石棺を出土したと伝えるが，1947年の調査で，前方部の中央から甲冑，刀剣，矛，鏃，刀子など多数の鉄製武器武具をいれた副葬品用の竪穴式石室を発掘した。
