Ove Høegh-Guldberg

Danish politician. As a central figure in the faction of Prince Frederick, who succeeded in overthrowing the German chancellor Struensee, who promoted radical policies, he effectively held the position of chancellor from 1772 (and as an official title from 1780 onwards). As a reaction to the previous policies, he sought to expel German bureaucrats, strengthen the Danish bureaucratic absolute monarchy, and restrict freedom of speech. This period is known as the "Gulberg era" (1772-84). [Murai Masato]

デンマークの政治家。急進的政策を推進するドイツ人宰相ストルーエンセ打倒に成功したフレゼリク皇太子派の中心人物として，1772年以降実質的に宰相の地位に就いた(官職名としては1780以降)。前政策の反動として，ドイツ人官僚の排除，デンマークの絶対王制官僚機構の強化と言論の自由の規制が図られた。この時期は〈グルベア時代〉(1772‐84)と呼ばれる。【村井誠人】
