A scholar of the Three Kingdoms Dynasty of Wu in China. His courtesy name was Zhongxiang. He was from Yuyao, Kuaiji (Zhejiang Province). He served Sun Quan, ruler of Wu, and was known as a courageous and forthright minister. He was particularly knowledgeable in the Book of Changes, and wrote the nine-volume Commentary on the Book of Changes. A portion of this is still extant today as a compilation by Sun Tang of the Qing. He also wrote twenty-two volumes of Commentary on the National Language, which was compiled in a compilation by Ma Guohan of the Qing. He also wrote commentaries on the Analects and Laozi, but they were quickly lost. [Kōzen Hiroshi]

中国，三国呉の学者。字は仲翔（ちゆうしよう）。会稽余姚（よよう）(浙江省)の人。呉主孫権に仕え，胆力ある直諫の臣として知られた。ことに〈易〉に通じ，全9巻の《周易注》を著した。いまその一部が清の孫堂による輯本として伝わる。また同じく彼の手になる《国語注》22巻は，清の馬国翰によって輯本が編まれている。さらに《論語》および《老子》の注も著したが，早く散逸した。【興膳宏】
