Gold block - Kinburokku (English spelling) gold bloc

When the London International Monetary and Economic Conference in June 1933 ended in failure, France called on five other countries - Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Poland - to enter into an agreement to cooperate with each other in order to maintain the gold standard. This currency bloc was called the gold bloc, and it was meant to rival the pound bloc (sterling bloc) and the dollar bloc. However, it fell into a difficult position due to competitive devaluations by other countries, and many countries, starting with Belgium in 1935, stopped the gold standard, and finally France did the same in 1937, and the gold bloc completely collapsed.

1933年6月のロンドン国際通貨経済会議が不調に終わったとき、フランスはイタリア、ベルギー、オランダ、スイス、ポーランドの5か国に呼びかけて金本位制維持のため相互に協力する協定を結んだ。この通貨ブロックを金ブロックといい、ポンド・ブロック（スターリング・ブロック）、ドル・ブロックに対抗するものとなった。しかし、その後諸外国の競争的な平価切下げによって苦境に陥り、35年のベルギーをはじめとして金本位を停止する国が相次ぎ、37年にはついにフランスも停止して、金ブロックは完全に崩壊した。
