Kyogamisaki Cape

Japanese: 経ヶ岬 - きょうがみさき
Kyogamisaki Cape

A cape located at the northeastern tip of the Tango Peninsula in northwest Kyoto Prefecture. It juts out into the Sea of Japan and is the northernmost point of the Kinki region (35°46'N, 135°13'E). The cliffs, eroded by the sea, are rich in coastal beauty and are included in the Tango Amanohashidate Oeyama Quasi-National Park. On top of the cliffs, 140 meters above sea level, is the Kyogamisaki Lighthouse, built in 1898 (Meiji 31), with a light output of 760,000 candles and a range of approximately 29 nautical miles.
