Rare earth permanent magnet - Kidorui Cobalt Magnet

Japanese: 希土類コバルト磁石 - きどるいコバルトじしゃく(英語表記)rare earth permanent magnet
Rare earth permanent magnet - Kidorui Cobalt Magnet
A rare earth element, especially a compound of samarium (Sm) and cobalt (Co), it is an extremely excellent permanent magnet. Permanent magnet materials, such as alloy steel magnets and ferrite magnets from KS steel, MK steel, to alnico magnets, were developed and put to practical use from the beginning to the middle of the 20th century, but in the 1960s, it was discovered that some intermetallic compounds of rare earth elements and cobalt have extremely large magnetic crystal anisotropy, and research and development of this type of magnet is now actively progressing. Particularly important is the compound with samarium , SmCo5 , which has a maximum energy product, an indicator of permanent magnet performance, that is extremely large compared to conventional magnets.
