A former town in Higashiusuki District in northern Miyazaki Prefecture. It borders Nobeoka City to the west. The Gokase River runs roughly east-west through the southern part of the town, and National Route 218 runs along the river. Most of the town is covered by forest and wilderness, and the town produces rice, oysters, shiitake mushrooms, tea, and tobacco, and beef cattle are raised. In February 2006, it was incorporated into Kitaura Town in Higashiusuki District and Nobeoka City. 200.70 km2 . 5,093 people (2003).

Kitagata [town]

A former town in Kishima District, central Saga Prefecture. The Sasebo Line and Nagasaki Expressway run through the town. The main settlement was a coal mining town in the Kishima coalfields, but in 1972 all the coal mines were closed and the town fell into decline. It has attracted factories, cultivated mandarin oranges, and raised livestock. In March 2006, it was incorporated into Yamauchi Town, Kishima District, and Takeo City. 27.25 km2 . 8,820 people (2003).

Kitagata [town]

Motosu County, Gifu Prefecture, a town west of Gifu City. Located in the northern part of the Nobi Plain, it is on the Meitetsu Ibi Line and has many commuters to Gifu City. To the north of the center are Jin'ya-cho and Ichiba-cho, which were built in the early modern period. Enkyo-ji Temple is located on Ikegyou-san. Area: 5.18 km2 . Population: 18,395 (2010).

佐賀県中部,杵島(きしま)郡の旧町。佐世保線,長崎自動車道が通じる。主集落は杵島炭田の炭鉱町であったが,1972年すべての炭鉱が閉山し衰微。工場誘致,ミカン栽培,畜産などを営む。2006年3月杵島郡山内町と武雄市へ編入。27.25km2。8820人(2003)。

岐阜県本巣(もとす)郡,岐阜市西隣の町。濃尾平野北部にあり,名鉄揖斐(いび)線が通じ岐阜市への通勤者が多い。中心の北方は近世の陣屋町,市場町。池鏡山円鏡寺がある。5.18km2。1万8395人(2010)。
