…The main participating countries were the Philippines, China, and Japan, and the host country rotated between the three countries, with India and the Dutch East Indies participating once each. Until the second tournament, it was generally called the Oriental Olympics or Far Eastern Olympics, but the name was changed from the third tournament. The competition was a men's only team competition in seven events (with some changes) - athletics, swimming, tennis, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and baseball - and of the ten tournaments, Japan won five times, the Philippines four, and China once. …
