〘Noun〙① A type of karuta gambling. It is played using 40 cards from the 48 cards of the Tensho Karuta, excluding four horse cards and four kiri cards. The highest number you can get by turning over your hand and adding it to the cards you have is 15. It is called kingo fuda. ※Joruri, Dannoura Kabuto Gunki (1732), vol. 2 "Wouldn't it be fun to use that as capital to play with your wives and wives for gold dust ?"② An abbreviation used by gamblers to refer to the number 15. ※Sharebon, Yobukodori (1779), Yamashita Hakkei "I took it from the man behind me and it was sixteen. 〘名〙① カルタ賭博の一つ。天正カルタ四八枚の中から馬四枚、キリ四枚を除いた四〇枚を使って行なうもの。手札をめくり札と合わせて一五の数を最高とする。きんごふだ。※浄瑠璃・壇浦兜軍記（1732）二「それを資本(もとで)に女夫連(めおとづれ)で金粉(キンゴ)して遊んだら、面白かろではあるまいか」② 一五の数をいう博徒仲間の隠語。※洒落本・呼子鳥（1779）やました八景「うしろにゐるあきちから取って十六だアなア、きんごなぞ一本くらったが、きんごでは一本だがないじゃてい」③ (揚げ代が十五匁であった時期に) 「かこいじょろう（囲女郎）」の異称。※浮世草子・好色一代男（1682）七「庭には金吾(キンゴ)の長持をはこび、井筒屋に出入やり手迄も、光をかさる桐のとをもらひ」
