Acclimatization

Acclimatization
When humans, animals, or plants migrate or move to a region with a different climate, they physiologically adapt to the new climate. This is also called climatic acclimation. For example, when a temperate human migrates to a tropical region, sweat glands develop over the course of several years, and the body temperature is adjusted. If climatic acclimation is not adequate, physical and mental disorders may occur. Human ancestors were born in tropical regions, and over time they adapted to various climates around the world, such as deserts, temperate zones, cold zones, polar regions, and highlands. This is due to human climatic acclimation. In his book Fuudo (1935), ethicist Watsuji Tetsuro writes that climatic acclimation also affects human personality, and there are three types of personality: the ranch type, which enjoys freedom; the combative desert type; and the monsoon type, which tolerates and accepts nature; and that Japanese people belong to the monsoon type.
