Church Dogmatik (English: Church Dogmatism)

Not only is it Karl Barth's representative work, but it is also a large work that is considered to be comparable to Thomas Aquinas's Summa Theologica, which is the culmination of Catholic theology. It consists of four volumes in total, with Volume 1 (Introduction) titled On the Word of God and consisting of two volumes, Volume 2 (Theology) consisting of two volumes, Volume 3 (Creation) consisting of four volumes, and Volume 4 (Reconciliation) consisting of four volumes. Including the appendix, the total number of volumes reaches 13 volumes and 9,000 pages. Marquardt called it the "White Whale" because of its white cover. There is a complete English translation, and a Japanese translation is also underway.
