Campbell Plateau

Japanese: キャンベル海台 - きゃんべるかいだい
Campbell Plateau

...A wide plateau that appears on the edge of a continental slope is called a marginal plateau, and is a type of plateau that is bordered on one side by a steep slope. The Blake Plateau off the coast of Florida (depth 700-1000 m) is a plateau deeper than the nearby continental shelf, and is thought to be the result of ocean currents preventing sedimentation, while the Campbell Plateau south of New Zealand (depth 500-1000 m) is thought to be the result of subsidence due to faults. There are various causes for the formation of plateaus in the ocean that are bordered on all sides by steep slopes.
