…It was written during the Genkō era (1321-24). It consists of 7 volumes in 3 parts: 3 volumes of the Kimiyo Hongan Sho, 2 volumes of the Saiyō Sho, and 2 volumes of the Chishi Sogo. The Kimiyo Hongan Sho encourages people to devote themselves to Amida's original vow and pray for rebirth through nembutsu, the Saiyō Sho explains in simple terms doctrinal issues such as women's rebirth and one thought, many thoughts, and the Chishi Sogo likens the relationship between Amida and all living beings to that of a father and son, and emphasizes that we should be completely committed to the ideas of abhorring the impure world and seeking the pure land. …
