...This is said to be the beginning of the current Nippon Travel Agency Co., Ltd. Also, in order to attract and treat foreign tourists, the Welcome Society, the predecessor of the Japan Tourist Bureau, was established in 1893, and this has been taken over by the current Japan Travel Agency. The founder of the modern travel industry abroad was Cook of England, who organized group tours for the Temperance Society in 1841.
