...It is distributed in Japan from Honshu to the Ryukyu Islands, Korea, and central and southern China. The Paspalum genus is a large genus with over 300 species, mainly found in the tropical Americas. In Japan, species such as P. distichum L., which has one or two spikelets, and P. orbiculare Forst., which resembles paspalum but has no hairs on the spikelets, can be seen. Dallisgrass and bahiagrass are used for pasture.
