…Ming music was introduced to Nagasaki by Fujian Province native Wei Shuanghou (1613?-1690) in the mid-17th century, and was later performed in Kyoto at the Imperial Palace. Wei Shuanghou's great-grandson Wei Hao (style name Zimei, ?-1774) also lived in Kyoto for about 10 years around 1770 (Meiwa 7), where he trained more than 100 disciples and gained the adoration of aristocrats and nobles.
