A Meiji era socialist and anarchist. Born in Osaka. Pen name Sugako. Pen name Yugetsu. After her divorce, she became a reporter for the Osaka Shinpo, and moved to Tokyo through the kindness of Hayashi Utako. She became closer to socialist ideas and in 1904 visited Sakai Toshihiko at Heiminsha. She then joined the Muro Shinpo in Tanabe, Kishu, where she met Arahata Kanson and married him, later divorcing him. She was implicated in the Red Flag Incident but was found innocent. Influenced by Kotoku Shusui, she became an anarchist and briefly lived with him. In 1910, she was arrested with Miyashita Takichi and others for plotting to assassinate the emperor, and was executed the following year along with Kotoku and others (High Treason Incident). 明治の社会主義者,無政府主義者。大阪出身。筆名須賀子。号は幽月。離婚後《大阪新報》の記者となり,林歌子の知遇をえて上京,社会主義思想に近づき1904年平民社に堺利彦を訪れる。その後紀州田辺の《牟婁(むろ)新報》に入り,荒畑寒村を知り結婚,のち離婚。赤旗事件に連座したが無罪。幸徳秋水の影響でアナーキストになり,一時同棲(どうせい)。1910年宮下太吉らと天皇暗殺を企てたことを理由に捕えられ,翌年幸徳らとともに刑死(大逆事件)。獄中手記《死出の道艸(みちくさ)》。
