New and increased Tsukuba dog collection - Shinzouinu Tsukubashu

Japanese: 新増犬筑波集 - しんぞういぬつくばしゅう

A book on haiku in two volumes. Written by Matsunaga Teitoku. Published in 1643 ( Kan'ei 20 ). The first volume is called "Abura Kasu" and the second volume is called "Yodogawa". In "Abura Kasu", he added several or even a dozen additional verses to the opening verse of "Inu Tsukuba-shu", and in "Yodogawa", while criticizing the combination of "Inu Tsukuba-shu", he added his own verse to the third verse and explained the meaning behind it. Overall, it criticizes the old-fashioned style of "Inu Tsukuba-shu" from the 16th century and shows what the new style of the Kan'ei era should be. Compared to the style of "Inu Tsukuba-shu", each verse has a clear meaning and is composed calmly, but the free and unrestrained vitality is gone.

俳諧論書。二冊。松永貞徳著。寛永二〇年（一六四三）刊。上巻を「油糟」、下巻を「淀川」と称する。「油糟」では、「犬筑波集」の前句に付句を数句あるいは十数句付けなおし、「淀川」では、「犬筑波集」の付合を批判しながら、その付合にみずからの句を三句目に付け足し、かつその付け心を自解している。全体として一六世紀の「犬筑波集」の作風の古さを批判し、寛永の新風のあるべきさまを示したもの。「犬筑波集」の句風にくらべ、一句の意味が通り、おだやかな句作りになってきているが、自由奔放な生気が消失している。
