Japanese: 神辺[町] - かんなべ

An old town in Fukayasu County, located in the southeast of Hiroshima Prefecture, north of Fukuyama City. The Takaya River, a tributary of the Ashida River, flows through the center of the town. Kannabe, the main settlement along the Fukuchiyama Line, developed as a castle town and a post town on the Sanyo Road. It has long been known for the production of Bingo Kasuri fabrics, and even today the textile industry and textile manufacturing are thriving. The town produces rice. Kan Chazan's Renjuku school and former home (a special historic site) are located here. Incorporated into Fukuyama City in March 2006. 56.81 ^km2 . Population: 40,991 (2003).

広島県南東部，福山市北隣の深安郡の旧町。中部を芦田川の支流高屋川が流れる。福塩線に沿う主集落神辺は城下町，山陽道の宿場町として発達，古くから備後絣(びんごがすり)の生産で知られ，現在も繊維工業，繊維製品製造が盛ん。米を産する。菅茶山(かんちゃざん)の廉塾・旧宅（特別史跡）がある。2006年３月福山市へ編入。56.81km²。４万991人（2003）。
