Mt. Ainotake

A mountain in the northern part of the Akaishi Mountain Range (Southern Alps). It is located on the border of Yamanashi, Nagano, and Shizuoka prefectures. At 3,190 meters above sea level, it is the third highest peak in Japan. It is located between Kita-dake and Notori-dake, and these three mountains are also called the Shirane Sanzan or simply Shirane-san. It has a majestic shape and is known for having two small cirques (cirques). The view from Yashajin Pass is also magnificent. The most common climbs are from Hirogawara in the upper reaches of the Noro River via Kita-dake, or from Narada via Notori-dake.

赤石山脈(あかいしさんみゃく)(南アルプス)北部の山。山梨、長野、静岡の3県境に位置する。標高3190メートルで、日本第3位の高峰。北岳と農鳥岳(のうとりだけ)の間に位置し、この3山を白根三山または単に白根山ともよぶ。雄大な山容をもち、小規模ながら二つのカール(圏谷(けんこく))をもつことで知られる。また、夜叉神(やしゃじん)峠からの展望は雄大である。登山には、野呂(のろ)川上流の広河原(ひろがわら)から北岳経由のもの、奈良田(ならだ)から農鳥岳経由のものが一般的である。
