…This struggle began in the latter half of 1920, but reached its peak in April-August 1921 in the Hanshin region, Japan's largest industrial area. In the Hanshin region, the Yuaikai was very active, and the Kansai Labor Alliance, which united the three federations in Osaka, Kobe, and Kyoto, had been formed, and had been engaged in unified struggles for some time. The struggle for collective bargaining rights in the Kansai region began in the Osaka region, and fierce struggles were fought at Osaka Electric Light, Fujinagata Shipyard, and the three Sumitomo Osaka companies, but it was eventually settled on the conditions of freedom of union membership and the establishment of a factory committee system. …
