Kangaroo Paw

...that is, deep red in A. coccineus Paxt., yellow-green in A. flavidus Red., and green in A. manglesii Don. The peculiarly shaped flowers are cultivated for ornamental and cut flowers under the name of kangaroo paw. It was introduced to England in the early 19th century and to Japan, but has not become an important horticultural plant.
