Kansui stone
〘Noun〙 The name of the marble stone produced near Sukegawa, Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture. It is also commonly referred to as pure white marble. It is a Paleozoic crystalline limestone with gray stripes on a white background and large crystal grains. It is used for building interior materials, carving materials, and insulating materials for electrical distribution boards. [Shogenjiko Setsuyoshu (1717)]
