Thatched wall

...Partition walls that can be moved even after construction are called movable partitions.
[Walls of Japanese architecture]
There are many types depending on the material and manufacturing method, including the common wooden walls and earthen walls, as well as pasted walls, wickerwork walls, thatched walls, stone walls, and brick walls. Wooden walls are divided into horizontal inlay wooden walls, in which horizontal boards are fitted into grooves in the pillars, vertical board walls, in which relatively thin vertical boards are nailed to crossbeams or furring strips, and siding walls, in which thin horizontal boards are layered and held down with edging and bracing.
