…In 1922, Sugimura Sojinkan of the Tokyo Asahi Shimbun proposed it, and Kamata Keishiro of the Osaka Asahi Shimbun drew up the plan, and the Shukan Asahi was launched on February 25 of the same year. The reason for this was that it was hastily planned and launched in order to compete with the Mainichi Shimbun Company, which had noticed that the company was publishing a weekly magazine.
