Cannula (English spelling)

A slightly thicker tube that is inserted into a tubular part of a living body, such as the heart, blood vessels, trachea, or an incision or wound. It is used for suctioning bodily fluids and injecting medicine. It is made of glass, metal, plastic, etc. A tube that is inserted into the trachea through the incision after tracheotomy surgery to secure the airway and suction bleeding and secretions is called a tracheal cannula. 生体の心臓，血管，気管，または切り口，傷口など管状の部分に挿入する，やや太めの管をいう。体液の吸引や薬液の注入などに用いる。材質はガラス，金属，プラスチックなど。気管切開手術後に切開部から気管内に挿入して気道の確保，出血や分泌物の吸引などに用いる管を，特に気管カニューレという。
