...The Omori clan of the Northern House of the Fujiwara clan. Originating from Katsuyama, Suruga County, Suruga Province (present-day Katsuyama, Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture). The Omori Katsuyama Genealogy states that they are descendants of the Minister of the Interior, Fujiwara no Iechika, but the authenticity of this is unclear. Koreyasu, the ancestor of the Omori Katsuyama clan, was the lord of Takahashi in Mikawa and became the governor of both Kai and Suruga provinces. After that, the Omori clan produced many Kamakura vassals, including Chikayasu and Chikaie. The Katsuyama clan descended from Chikayasu's younger brother Korekane, and through Korekane's son Koretada, they also produced many Kamakura vassals.
