On the other hand, the Katano Monogatari found in the Fuyō Wakashu tells the story of a Middle Counselor who betroths a woman to a falconry in Katano and then commits suicide by jumping off a cliff when he does not return, which is similar to the Takato legend told in the Konjaku Monogatarishu. There is a problem as to whether this Katano Monogatari and the previous story with Katano no Shosho as the protagonist are the same thing, but the prevailing theory is that there was a work that mixed the two together, although they originated from different places. …

…《源氏物語》《落窪物語》では好色漢とされ，源英明に交野中将の称があったともいう。一方，《風葉和歌集》所見の〈交野物語〉は，中納言なる人物が交野の鷹狩りが縁で大領の娘と契るが，以後訪れないため娘は投身自殺をはかるという筋で，《今昔物語集》に伝える高藤伝説と似る。この〈交野物語〉と先の〈交野少将を主人公とした物語〉とが同一物か否かが問題とされるが，起源を別にしながら2者をないまぜにした作品が存在したとの説が有力である。…
