Fissile material

A substance that undergoes nuclear fission when it absorbs thermal neutrons. ²³⁵ U is the only naturally occurring fissile material. ²³² Th and ²³⁸ U react with neutrons to produce the fissile compounds ²³³ U and ²³⁹ Pu, respectively.

熱中性子を吸収して核分裂を起こす物質．²³⁵U だけが天然に存在している核分裂性物質である．²³²Th と ²³⁸U は中性子と核反応を起こしてそれぞれ核分裂性の ²³³U と ²³⁹Pu になる.
