During the Edo period, the company was a pioneer in the manufacture of trick fireworks set off at the river opening ceremony in Ryogoku. In 1658 (Manji 1), the first Kagiya Yahee came to Edo from Shinohara in Yamato Province (currently Shinohara, Ooto-cho, Gojo City) and invented toy fireworks after seeing the fireworks set off by the shogunate's signal fireworks. The origin of summer fireworks is the launch of tribute fireworks as entertainment on the night of the Suijin Festival in 1717 (Kyoho 2). The store was located in Yokoyama-cho, Nihonbashi. During the sixth generation, the store manager Kiyoyoshi was given a branch off from the family and had "Tamaya" set up in Yoshikawa-cho, Ryogoku. From then on, the two stores were responsible for the up and down stream fireworks of Ryogoku Bridge in half. The elaborate and gorgeous fireworks were a real Edo specialty, with onlookers shouting "Kagiya!" and "Tamaya!" Later, Tamaya was discontinued due to a fire, and only Kagiya continued until the Meiji era.
