〘 noun 〙 In the Ritsuryo system, when a person who has committed a crime is pardoned and his/her sentence reduced. ※Ryo Gikai (718) commentary: " Immediate release by imperial decree . Those who are pardoned will be pardoned . Those who are not pardoned will not be pardoned. According to the law , those who are pardoned will be pardoned . Those who are pardoned will only be exempted. Those who are pardoned will only be pardoned .
