...There are various types, such as upper surface blowing, external blown flap (EBF), and augmenter wing (Figure 4-b). The upper surface blowing type uses the Coanda effect, which means that when the jet engine's jet is blown onto the upper surface of a wing with the flap lowered, the jet flows downward along the curved surface, and a significant increase in lift is obtained by the momentum change of imparting downward velocity to the jet.
