[Born] 1792 (Kansei 4) [Died] November 29, 1870 (Meiji 3). Head of a Nagauta singing school. A disciple of the first generation Okayasu Kisaburo. Formerly known as Kiyohachi. In 1850, he succeeded to the third generation, and in 1868, he changed his name to Kiou. He is counted as one of the three masters of the Tenpo period, and is especially known for his well-received singing of "Hito no Seki" from the Kanjincho.
