Vegetables in a jar
〘Noun〙 A perennial plant of the Convolvulaceae family. Native to tropical Asia, it is widely cultivated as a vegetable in the tropics, but is rarely cultivated in Japan. The leaves are oblong with pointed tips, resembling sweet potatoes. In autumn, it blooms white or red morning glory-shaped flowers about 5 cm in diameter. The young shoots and leaves are eaten as everyday vegetables.
