An old town in the middle reaches of the Monobe River in Kami District, Kochi Prefecture. The main settlement is Mirafu, and the surrounding area is covered with extensive river terraces, producing rice paddies and high-quality Niro rice. In March 2006, the town merged with Tosayamada Town and Monobe Village in Kami District to become a city, Kami City. Area: 130.37 km2 . Population: 5,705 (2003).
