LLDPE - LLDPE

...As described below, the manufacturing process is different for each, the former being called high-pressure polyethylene and the latter being called low- and medium-pressure polyethylene. Recently, low-density polyethylene has also become available through the low-pressure process, and is called linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). Low-density polyethylene was first obtained by high-pressure radical polymerization at ICI in the UK in 1933, and many problems in industrialization were overcome due to military requirements, leading to industrialization in the UK and the US during World War II.
