MTP - Management Training Program

Japanese: MTP - エムティーピー（英語表記）management training program

A management training plan. It was originally used by the U.S. Far East Air Force to train managers of Japanese laborers, and was transferred to the private sector in 1950 through the mediation of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. Compared to TWI (Training for Supervisors), also introduced from the U.S., which is aimed at first-line supervisors, this is aimed at higher-level managers, deals with a relatively wide range of business management issues, and aims to help them understand management principles and acquire management skills. It is currently managed and operated by the Japan Industrial Training Association. It is called routine training because the content is relatively standardized.

管理者訓練計画。アメリカ極東空軍が，日本人労務者の管理者の訓練に使用していたものを通商産業省の斡旋で 1950年に民間に移したもの。同じくアメリカから導入された TWI (監督者訓練) が第一線監督者向けであるのに比べ，より上級の管理者層を対象とし，比較的広範囲な経営管理上の問題を扱い，管理原則の理解と管理技術の修得をねらいとしている。現在は日本産業訓練協会が管理運営している。内容が比較的に定型化されているので，定型訓練といわれる。
