Evian Water - Evian Water

Évian is a bottled drinking water produced in France, and is the product name of Evian Water Co., Ltd. It is sometimes used as a synonym for mineral water. It is made by purifying and bottling high-quality natural mineral water, and contains a considerable amount of minerals. In areas of Europe where the water quality is poor, such as in Europe, it is less hard than tap water, and tastes good when chilled, so it is widely used in ordinary homes, restaurants, and hotels. Other bottled drinking waters from France that originate from a similar place to Evian-les-Bains include Vittel and Vichy, both of which are exported to countries around the world as they are said to be good for your health.

In Japan, mineral water and groundwater from various regions are purified, bottled, and sold as "Japan Evian Water," and is used in bars and other drinking establishments to mix with water. The price is quite high, both in France and Japan, compared to tap water.

フランスでつくられる瓶詰飲料水で、エビアン水（株）の商品名Évian。ミネラルウォーターの代名詞として使われることもある。良質の天然鉱水を浄化し、瓶詰にしたもので、かなり多量のミネラルを含んでいる。ヨーロッパなど水質の悪い地方では、水道水に比べて硬度も低く、冷やして飲めば味もよいので、一般家庭やレストラン、ホテルなどで広く用いられている。エビアン・レ・バンが原産地類似のフランス産瓶詰飲料水にビテルVittelやビシーVichyなどがあり、いずれも健康によいとして世界各国に輸出されている。

　日本でも各地の鉱泉水や地下水を浄化し、瓶詰にして「日本エビアン水」として売り出されており、酒場などで水割り用に使われている。値段は水道水に比べてフランス産、日本産でもかなり高価なものである。
