...After many twists and turns, the group formed the Enoken troupe in November 1932, and in 1934, they signed a film contract with PCL (later Toho), becoming popular nationwide. His most famous works are Enoken's Chakkiri Kinta (1937) directed by Yamamoto Kajiro, and Enoken's Hokaibo (1938) directed by Saito Torajiro, in both of which Enoken plays a petty villain who always runs away at every opportunity. However, the extant versions of both works are shortened versions that have many of the jokes and highlights cut out, and it is a pity that the latter part, in particular the part about escaping the punishment by kettle, is missing. ...
