"Edo's famous place, Midori Soga"

...Many dramatized this work by linking it to the chivalrous man Banzuiin Chobei, who should have been unrelated to the story due to the time difference. The first of these was Edo Meisho Midori Soga at the Edo Morita Theater in May 1779 (An'ei 8), and in July, the puppet play Meguro Hiyokuzuka appeared at the Edo Hizen Theater. After that, there were plays such as Omowaku Kuru Wakatagi by Namiki Gohei I, Keisei Azuma Kagami by Sakurada Jisuke I, Miraculous Soga no Kamigaki by Tsuruya Nanboku IV, and Hiyoku no Chiyoharu no Sogagiku by Fukumori Kyusuke (the Kiyomoto piece Sono Kouta Yume Mo Yoshiwara in the work is still popular today), and finally the definitive version was Ukiyozuka Hiyoku no Inazuma by Nanboku at the Edo Ichimura-za in March 1823 (Bunsei 6).
