...Onion and melon cultivation is popular in the plains downstream of the Ikushunbetsu River. There are many ammonite fossils in the upper reaches, and in 1976, the fossil of a large carnivorous reptile, Ezomikasaryu (Ten), was excavated. The artificial lake, Katsurazawa Lake, is part of the Furano Ashibetsu Prefectural Natural Park, and Katsurazawa Onsen (simple sulfur spring, 13°C) is located on the lakeside.
